As agreed by the purchaser and specified in the contract , for grade A steel with thickness not greater than 12.5mm, rimmed steel can be applied , which shall be specified in the quality certificate .

For grade A steel with thickness greater than 50mm , the impact test can be exempted in case they are supplied in normalizing conditions subject to refined treatment . Likewise , in case such grade A steels are supplied in TMCP conditions and subject to the agreement of the class society , the impact test can also be exempted .
